Jade was miserable. She had found out her mother was a werecat, her boyfriend had been kissed by a random nymph as fate would have it. Work was good at least. Isabel Rayne had agreed to keep her identity a secret so long as she told her what was up. Jade did, and Izzy understood, gave her a job.
No matter how much she threw herself in her work, she couldn't shake the nightmares of Sam being all torn and bloody. She swore she saw him, but blinked and he was gone. She wished she had him to talk to, make sense of things. She needed a friend. She had missed having one of those.
