What: Irene finishes up some work
After dismissing her class with an assignment, causing plenty of groans from the students, Irene waited until the last one left her classroom. Sitting, she kicked her shoes off and tucked her feet under her, pulling out a heavy stack of papers. So far she'd worked her way through half of them, and she was looking forward to finishing the other half here before heading home. It was quieter, and she was much less likely to forget to bring them in if they just stayed here. Which was what she should have done with the vocabulary tests currently sitting next to her side of the bed... The ones she'd graded more than a week ago. Luckily her students didn't seem to care if they ever got their grades back. Another time she would have worried about their lack of involvement, but now she was thanking her lucky stars no one was calling her out on her forgetfulness. It was like her brain had gone out the window lately, along with a few other things... She'd even forgotten several key words today, leaving her silent and fumbling in front of a dozen skeptical juniors.
And thinking about that was not getting these papers graded... Chewing the end of her red pen, she started reading the first one.
