Who: Hermione and Ron
When: foredated to Wednesday, 6pm
Where: Ron's office, restaurant, movie theater
What: a Date

Hermione missed Ron. They'd had a couple of really terrible dates, and Hermione was looking forward to getting to spend some time with him again. Y'know, after him burning part of her kitchen down. (But he'd sent someone over to fix the stove, anyway.)

She climbed the stairs to his office, getting in a little exercise to burn off some nervousness she was feeling at the prospect of their time together. It was just the end of her work day, and she was still wearing her office clothes. She'd dressed nice today, though, and actually put on lip gloss, too, so she'd look nice.

She knocked on the wall of his cubicle and stuck her head in. "Hello? Ron?"

As always, Ron's desk was a mess. Files and papers were spread out across the surface and you couldn't begin to find the wood underneath it all. Ron didn't bother cleaning it anymore, it just got messy again within a day. Today was exceptionally bad. He'd been nervous the entire day about going out with Hermione again. What could he do this time to screw it all up? Break her nose? Get her arrested? He didn't put anything past himself.

Looking up at the sound of her voice, Ron smiled. "Hullo," he said and quickly stood up. Should he kiss her? No, that wouldn't be smart. "You look nice," he said nervously. "You ready then?"

"Hi." Hermione broke into a smile at the sight of him. She loved the untidiness of his desk. It was so very Ron. She stepped into his cubicle. "Thanks. Yeah, I'm ready whenever you are." She said, reaching for his hand.

"I figure we can get a quick dinner first, then head to the movie theater. Unless you want to see the movie first and have a late dinner afterward."

	"Dinner first." Like that was a surprise. But he was hungry. And, man, he hoped his palm wasn't sweaty. Ron took Hermione's hand and smiled at her. She was really mental to want to go out with him again. Wasn't she supposed to be smart? This wasn't a smart thing to do. "Nothing fancy though. I, uh, I don't do well in those places." 	"No problem." Hermione gave his hand a little squeeze. She knew he wasn't good in very fancy places... well, neither was she, really. "There's a pizza place across from the theater. "I like pizza," he said with a smile and led her towards the lift. He was going to make every effort not to ruin this date. He didn't think she was going to give him another chance if this one went south, too.

Once they stepped into the lift, Ron dropped her hand only to wrap an arm around Hermione's waist and pull her close against his side. She felt... well, really good. And warm. And soft. And Ron had to force himself to stare at the doors and think about gnomes in the garden so he didn't start kissing her in the lift in front of the fat witch from Magical Games.

	Hermione really wouldn't have minded being kissed in the lift in front of the fat witch from Magical Games. Honest. But she was enjoying the closeness, anyway. When the lift rattled to a close, Hermione led the way out of it slowly, so he could stay close. "Shall I just apparate us there?" She asked. "To the alley behind the pizza place?" "Sure," he said and caught the scent of her shampoo. He wouldn't have expected Hermione to smell so.. nice. But she did. And it was soft and feminine and exactly how he saw her, even if nobody else did.

Except there was a piece of fuzz amongst her frizzy curls and Ron had to reach up to pluck it from her hair carefully. He smiled softly at her and then leaned down to kiss her cheek. "Ready?"

Ron was an enigma. Hermione simply couldn't figure him out. A mystery wrapped in an enigma, or whatever the saying was. With Ron so close to her, picking lint from her hair, kissing her cheek... it made Hermione's brain sort of stop. Her cheeks tinged rather pink, and she gave him a gentle grin.

"Ready." After reaching down between them, she took hold of his hand and laced their fingers together. She turned on the spot, and with a CRACK! they appeared in the alley behind the pizza parlor. It was thankfully vacant, relatively clean and only slightly smelled like baking pizza.

"This way." It was a short walk to the pizza shop. Hermione was growing hungry now, enhanced by the smell in the air.

	Holding onto her hand firmly, Ron walked with Hermione towards the smell of delicious baking dough. He was starving. That wasn't really anything new and he loved that Hermione knew him well enough to feed him. Ron did worse at everything on an empty stomach. "So, are you going to have that other auction? "I haven't heard." Hermione said, sadly. She was certainly hoping for it. At least they could raise a little more money for the hospital. "Do you think we should?" She asked, leading the way into the restaurant.

It was one of those places where you walk toward the back and order pizza by the slice from the counter, then pay and take your own pizza to your booth. Hermione led the way and ordered two slices for herself--one was 'all meat' and the other was 'vegetarian'... nice balance.

"I think you should," he said with a nod. "It'll be fun." Ron wasn't sure how he'd have the money to bid on her, but he'd figure something out.

When it was his turn to order, Ron asked for three slices, all loaded with every topping they had. And a large fizzy drink. And an order of garlic bread. Once their food came out, Ron quickly paid for both orders before Hermione had a chance to argue.

Maybe Harry would give him the money, like he'd offered for Hermione. Either way, Hermione knew she'd feel special if he bid on her. She'd feel special if anyone bid on her.

Hermione got water. She thought maybe she'd get something else to drink at the movie theater, and didn't need to subject her teeth to two sodapops in one day. (She was the daughter of two dentists, anyway.)

She sat down in the booth opposite Ron to eat. "I hope we can. I don't know if the board has even looked at my proposal--they've been busy taking care of the explosion aftermath."
