Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Tim and Cho
When: After his journal entry
Where: Cho's place
What: Drinking
Rating: TBD

It was a pretty boring night. Tim was trying to figure out something to do to pass the time--and he didn't have to work especially early in the morning, so... he wrote in his journal. And Cho was kind enough to respond. Wonderful! He enjoyed spending time with Cho, she was a firecracker. Tim got dressed--not too dressy, but nicer than the flannel pajamas he was wearing--and headed out to meet up with her.

Tim picked up some beer from the local store, and headed over to Cho's place. He didn't know if the plan was to go out, or stay in, but either way he was prepared. He knocked on her door.

Cho's flat was simple and well decorated. She only had one bedroom, but had made sure to find a flat with a dining room and balcony. Asian decorations dotted various shelves and tables and one wall in her living was lined with bookshelves.

She had been in her kitchen, washing up the last of her dishes when someone knocked on the door. Walking over in bare feet, she went up on her tip toes to look through the peephole. Smiling warmly, she opened the door to invite her friend inside.

"Take your shoes off," she demanded before saying hello. Cho had a thing about shoes inside.

Tim gave a grin, stepping through the doorway. "Oh, all right." He slipped out of his shoes and kicked them aside.

"Hi." He grinned, stopping once he was standing inside her place. "Wow. It's great in here." His place was nice, but it didn't have a flair like hers.

"I brought beer." He added, holding up the bag.

"Thanks," she said and took the bag from him. Cho walked towards the brightly lit kitchen to find them glasses. "I've been here since I got out of school." Granted, her parents had helped with the down payment and she knew it was a little better than she could really afford, but Cho was still proud of it. She'd been making the payments since she started working full time.

"So, how have you been?"

Tim nodded. He'd moved around a lot since school. It took a lot out of him. His apartment now was just starting to feel like home, though, so he was happy with that.

"Pretty good, actually." Tim said, following after her. He let his eyes wander around her apartment, though. "I'm planning a Halloween party."

"A party? Really?" Big surprise there, Cho wasn't a fan of parties. Too many people she probably didn't like in one space. No thank you.

"I hope you're not expecting me to come."

"Not a big party." Tim said, raising an eyebrow at the tone she used.

"Well, you're getting an invite. But you don't have to come if you don't want to."

"I don't like parties," she said while pouring them each a glass of the beer Tim had brought. "They seem like such a waste of time." It had been so long since Cho had been the outgoing and sweet girl from school that she didn't even notice how cold and stiff she sounded these days.

"You don't like spending time with people?" Tim asked, watching her pour.

"Not really, no. I've found that more often than not, people prove to be bitter let downs." Cho opened up her refrigerator and searched for something to nibble on. She had left over dip and some sliced cheese. Putting them on the counter, Cho stepped up on the small step-stool she had in her kitchen to retrieve crisps and crackers.

"Then I'll only stay long enough to get you good and drunk." Tim said, completely kidding. He reached for some cheese.

"So, why do you work in the hospital if you don't like spending time with people?"

"You're an exception to the rule. I like you." Cho paused and made a face as though she'd just swallowed something bitter. "As a friend, naturally. I have no interest in you beyond a platonic relationship."

Picking up a crisp, Cho shrugged. "I wanted to be a Healer for as long as I could remember. The human body is amazing, isn't it? I don't need to like people to want to solve puzzles."

Tim gave a laugh. "I'm definitely not drunk enough to respond to that." He said, reaching for a glass to lift and drink. He would have said something about how she looked like a good shag but he didn't want a relationship from her if she'd made that comment after a few beers.

"But you have to spend time with people to solve puzzles about the human body." Tim responded. "Why pick a profession that makes you do something you don't like?"

"I wanted to research," she said. "It didn't work out." Cho turned away from Tim and pretended to busy herself in the kitchen. She didn't like talking about her screw ups when it came to becoming a Healer.

Tim gave a little nod. There were a lot of things that he wanted to do, and being stuck running his father's old, owl-order business by night and working on misguided charms during the day didn't leave much time for his aspirations, either.

"I know how that goes." He said, taking a gulp from his glass again. He reached for some crisps and dip.

"Yeah? What did you want to do?" Cho couldn't imagine being let down with being a Healer. Even after years of working as a Nurse, she'd give anything to be able to complete her training.

"It sounds a bit childish, but I wanted to work in Quidditch. Playing, managing, training... anything." Tim admitted. "But after my accident I couldn't bring myself around to try out."

Cho smiled slightly. "Nothing wrong with Quidditch. I use to love playing Quidditch." Once upon a time before she changed how she behaved.

"I'm sure you would have been brilliant."

Tim gave a little nod, blushing. "I had a lot of fun with it. Not to say I think I could have played... but I could have done... something." He gulped from his glass.

"Me, too." Tim responded. He felt a bit awkward on a broom nowadays with his tail in the way. "Thanks. I just hope that I'm doing good, no matter what I'm doing."
