"I've felt better," he murmured, "I am better near you." Lucius was floating on the edge of sleep and pain potions even though he was technically awake. He was leaning toward Narcissa with the intent of following through with the impulse to lie down beside her when his mother's hand on his shoulder stopped him.
"Not now, Lucius," Winifred said firmly, "You'll have your opportunity soon enough and in more suitable surroundings. Say your goodbyes and then back to bed with you. Both of you need your sleep."
Lucius pouted at his mother's cruelty but obediantly murmured, "sleep well, beloved," before pressing a lingering kiss to Narcissa's palm.
