Sadly Parker had gotten to the point where he had relocated himself so many times, he was actually used to this, which was something that he always said would never happen. Yes, leaving the friends and places behind was still a challenge, but the routine was the same and had been since he was two. Luckily for him, he wasn’t in the same kind of situation as his father. Thanks to Parker’s father and his inability to hold a job his family resided in twelve different cities in nine states between the time Parker was born until he was seventeen when he found himself at Xavier’s. After a childhood like that he promised himself that he would never put his children through that.
And yet, here he was, dragging his seven year-old daughter all the way to Colorado from New Jersey, with New Hampshire before that. He felt so guilty doing it, but he felt that he had to. He also felt that this would be their last major move for a very long time. Teaching at one of the mutant schools was a job that Parker knew he would be able to keep, plus it gave them a place to stay instead of having to search for and buy a new apartment. Of course, moving into MVMA had been different than the majority of Parker’s other moves. It was similar to when he had moved into Xavier’s, which made him feel much more comfortable. That school was, to this day, his favourite place that he ever lived. He hoped that MVMA would be similar to that for both him and Isabelle.
Parker had been told that they needed physicals which he completely understood, it being a school and all. He had spent his morning unpacking things while Izzy slept off their three day drive from Point Pleasant to the school. He finally got Izzy up and out of bed by about lunchtime, so once she had eaten he managed to get directions to the infirmary from one of the students. The one thing Parker knew they were both going to have problems adjusting to was the layout of the building itself. Once that was engrained in their memories they would be fine.
When they reached the infirmary Parker wasted no time in pushing the door open and entering with Izzy right behind him. They were met by the sounds of a man yelling about something that sounded like it was probably football-related. Parker’s eyes scanned the room quickly before coming to rest on the source of the noise: a tall man with reddish hair and a square-ish jaw. The blond man raised his eyebrows at the man who appeared to be the physician as he figured out that he had been yelling at his television, more specifically a video game. Next to him he could feel Izzy’s small hands latch onto his pant leg, pulling her closer to him.
“Hello…” Parker greeted him uncertainly, eyebrows still raised.
