It was hard to say whether or not Rogue really enjoyed the Christmas season. Okay, she did. Baby Jesus was born and saved the world. For as crazy as things got and how hard her childhood had been, there was still an ounce of faith left in Rogue because she was sure if it hadn't been for God, she might've still been on a bad path. She wouldn't call herself staunch in faith or really one to actively talk religion, but she believed there had to be something bigger out there. Some force that made sense of everything here. In her bedroom, she decided to decorate a bit this year. With what little cash she had, she bought some tinsel and framed the window with it. She even got a cheap little tree at the thrift shop with some even cheaper ornaments that now sat on the corner of her desk. It was something. With Thanksgiving now in her wake, Christmas was coming up and following that would be the New Year. A time when Rogue would sit and reflect on her life. But Christmas was nice because it was about family. Family. It meant so much to her. More than Rogue would ever really admit. It's what she'd craved from Mystique and in a way she got it. Though it wasn't what it was meant to be. And here? She had something like a family, she supposed. But she still wanted more. Not to be babied and treated like a child but to have people to hold onto. People to anchor her mentally. She was building that with some friends though. She liked Tabitha. She liked America. And she liked Laura a lot. They were an interesting group of girls. So as Rogue plugged in the lights for her little tree, she decided to see if the other girls would maybe want to do something together for Christmas. Like a family. |
