It was beyond her ability to explain the symbiotic connection she and Pietro shared. Marya had told her it was special, that she and Pietro were special and gifted with something that no one else could experience. She could always find him and he could always find her. She often felt how he was feeling, even without looking at him. It was like another sense entirely, one without words, but tuned enough that she understood it as clearly as if he were talking in her head.
When she reached out, the emotion she felt changed and warmed, and in a breath he was there, settling into the grass much like she was. She shifted slightly so her temple was resting against his shoulder. She let the comfortable silence stretch between them for a couple minutes. There wasn't anything too pressing to talk about, though there was something curious she had been toying with as the year drew to a close, and she had asked a couple students about it as well.
"Do you want to explore the city this summer? Like China Town or Little Italy.." She asked him in their native Romani tongue. She never talked to him in English when they were alone, only if there was an English speaker participating in the conversation and she didn't want to be rude. She liked it better than English, and she liked the privacy.
