John looked over at the television and shrugged, "I think. You know, for as often as I've come here, I never bothered to try it." Usually people came out here to drink, to play cards, or to do things they couldn't normally do inside the confines of the school. He looked around and noticed in a box next to the couch there was a remote. It had dust gathered around the buttons, so he wasn't sure if the batteries were still good.
"Well, worth a shot to see if it does, huh?" John said with a smile and eased back. The liquor could take a backseat for whatever was on the television, if it worked. Either the batteries were barely alive or someone replaced them recently. The TV turned on and some reruns of an old show were on.
John said nothing more, just tossing the remote control onto the table before him and sat back. The talking was done and now they could sit back, relax, and enjoy not having to talk.
