John only served a little and had he known that alcohol was included in the manner in which she attempted to take her life, he wouldn't have suggested it at all. But John didn't know, and therefore it was there and he wasn't looking to get her pissed. Just a little loosened up maybe so some of the tension from their last conversation would be easier to deal with. he had an apology to give her and John wasn't exactly fond of the idea of apologizing.
"Fair enough," John replied, "getting ready to go. Still weird. Been here two years and hell, it's the first place that actually felt like a home." As much as he wanted to pretend that Asteroid M had made him feel at home, he wasn't there long enough to get that feeling. It was more like a luxury resort that went horribly wrong.
He looked over at her, "What about you? Happy to be back in your room? I imagine it's better than hospital beds, yeah?" He tried to keep the conversation light, and focusing on her being back seemed to help. Her situation was better, not getting worse. Or so he hoped.
