Gabe refrained from commenting when Victor showed him the calendar. He just lifted his shoulder but - as soon as it was put down he did reach out and pull it a little closer to himself. Not obviously, of course, but he was curious and had a quick look at it. He figured he'd have a better look when Victor wasn't there. He didn't want to look like he was too interested, after all. He didn't care. That was what he kept telling himself. He just didn't. care.
"So... what does that mean, year of the snake? Why's that important?" He wasn't snapping or even snide, there was a note of genuine curiosity in Gabe's voice which was a little unusual for him.
He moved closer to the food, looking at it with a slightly wrinkled nose and wondering if he'd be sneaking downstairs for a midnight snack because it looked kind of gross. But he would have to give it a try, right? After all, that's why they were doing this.
The food didn't really smell all that nice.
"I don't have to eat with those fuc- knitting-needle chop sticks, right? I can use a fork? I'm not eating with chopsticks."
