Working with children had been interesting, to say the least. Shatterstar had never been around people that small or at that age, at least not since he had been of that size and years. While teaching them how to measure things and prepare healthy, kid-appropriate meals had been a distraction from everything that had been going on in his head, it didn’t stop it all from hitting him the moment they were on the way home. Shatterstar had come out of hiding in the attic, but even his time spent among others or in the rec room with Rictor had to be limited. He had told Rictor that he wanted to be prepared for the next time he’d have to go back, so he did just that. Strangely enough, it helped to occupy his mind. When they had returned to the mansion, it was to the training rooms that Shatterstar went to. While the attic space had hid him from everyone but Rictor, the training rooms only managed to hide him from … almost everyone. He kept to himself while he went back to his old physical routine- practicing not with his swords, but with the wooden staves that were safer than the blades his makers had designed for him. He couldn’t be slow, not for the next time he’d be fighting for his or his friend’s life. And so, for a long while, he had gone missing in the mansion. But he had to come out eventually. Working himself until exhaustion, Shatterstar was satisfied enough and decided to head back to his dormitory. He was trudging along down the hallway of the boy’s dormitory to his room when he thought he heard his name-- or rather, nickname, since no one called him Gaveedra or Shatterstar, it seemed. He slowed his walking to a stop and turned around to see who it was. |
