She heard his words, but let them wash over her. She hadn't realized how dire things were... And to add to her feelings of abject terror, despair now entered in side of her, just when she thought there was no more room for any more emotion. It was suffocating and she was filled to the brim with it.
Alison shut her eyes and then, in what could only be described as sweet relief, she started to cry. She cried for Bobby who dying. And for Jono had, what Alison could only assume, given up what he had always wanted to rescue her. Hot tears streamed down Alison's face. He is how he was before. Chamber. Why was this all happening? Why them? None of them deserved this. Why couldn't they just be happy always?
Her emotions, perhaps, were exasperated by the fact that she was, like Star, also in a great deal of pain, half of her body burned up by the blast. And unlike other injuries, or at least this was Alison's opinion, burns were the worst. Some places were better than others, obviously, but all in all, Alison felt crispy and raw and now wracked with tears.
