Meggan looked uneasy at the idea of taking the guitar. Whilst she wanted to learn, she didn't know if she'd accidentally break it or something if she wasn't totally careful with it. She would be, but she didn't want to push on it wrong and break a string or something... she didn't know how fragile they were. She brushed her palm over the grass again as Jay talked, watching his fingers as they moved on the guitar. It was strange to her, how such a pretty sound could come just from pushing down on the right part of a string and then making it vibrate.
"Will it hurt?" she asked, looking at her fingertips again, "I mean, pressing on the strings?" She rubbed her hands together and shifted where she was sat on the grass. A soft breeze made the hair on her arms stand up on edge and she took a deep breath, as if trying to control her body's own reaction to the cold weather. When it got cold, she tended to grow fur to keep warm, but she still didn't understand that reaction for her wasn't because she was naturally a fur-covered monster but that her mutation meant she shifted in reaction to her surroundings or the emotions of those around her and her own emotions. "What would I need to do?"
