Re: The Return of Kitty Pryde
This time, Kitty was prepared. Not just because she had to endure the groans of Jubilee, but because the mansion had not exactly been the happiest of places. Well, except for Bobby and Rogue. That situation was just one more reason she had spent her days gaming, grinding, and gearing-up. With Hank's "situation," and Ro being out of sorts, Kitty had jumped at the chance to escape her room and the mansion. Her last lecture at Frost's school may have gone horribly, but the rest of the day had been fun.
At least until the end. She just hoped that Jubilee would be willing to sit down and talk with her, because no one else at the Mansion seemed capable of doing it these days.
Kitty was already in the classroom when the students started to file in. This time there was no sight of a projector, and no look of fear plastered on Kitty's face. She was ready.
One by one they came in, the minutes ticking by before the class bell would ring. Kitty sat behind the desk, dressed casually in a blouse and a pair of skinny jeans. So maybe she could have put a little more effort into the outfit, but they were lucky she was so selflessly willing to fill in for Hank. Yes, they were the lucky ones, not her.
When Jubilee came bouncing in, Kitty actually felt relieved. For a moment she thought maybe the young woman wouldn't be coming. Which would have totally been fine, but she had to prove that she was fully capable of coming up with an Ethics class that didn't blow. Of course, the fact that Jubilee was not coming in alone had her wondering what was going on. Who was that kid? He was tall, lank even, and not at all attractive. Jubilee could do better than that.
Not that it was any of her business.
The bell rang and Kitty jumped to her feet, taking the opportunity to distract herself from the weird pattern of thoughts she had just had about Jubilee. "Alright, who's up for a debate?"
