Bobby could tell by Rogue's body language that she was about to make good on her threat to bust some faces. She was pissed, and it looked like she was about to take out all the drama of the past couple of days -- maybe of the last few months or years, even -- on the Marauders.
"Isn't it obvious?" Vertigo replied to Rogue. "You're taking a stroll down Gambit's memory lane, aren't you? It's why you're here. And this particular memory includes us, a little over five years ago."
Blockbuster growled. "C'mon, enough talk! She wants a fight so bad, I say we give it to 'her!"
"Patience, patience," Scrambler cautioned him. "This party won't be complete without a certain guest of honor, who should be on his way. In fact, I'm surprised he isn't already here."
Several popping sounds sounded throughout the crumbling theater. Bobby looked around as he heard the building's support structures start to creak and buckle. Acting quickly. he started freezing the nearest columns, hoping to prevent the roof overhead from collapsing onto them.
Vertigo looked around. "Maybe he's here after all, and he doesn't want the truth to get out." Concentrating, she projected queasy vibes in a wide radius around her, causing Bobby's equilibrium to go haywire. He leaned against a nearby wall for support.
Another body fell from the rafters to the floor, apparently affected by Vertigo's mutant ability as well. The distinctive brown trench coat immediately identified the figure: It was Remy LeBeau.
