Who: Ororo Munro & Scott Summers What: Ro's loss of powers brings her closer to Scott Where: Xavier's Mansion When: Present Day
There was a sense of quiet around the mansion that did not come about often. Drama persisted, it was a natural occurrence given the X-Men's close proximity to one another, yet it all seemed to be contained. For the moment. Rogue and Bobby had returned from their adventures with quite the eye for one another. Few spoke of the situation, reserving their judgement for private conversation, and let the two parade around with their affections. Ororo was one of the only to visibly show her displeasure for the open couple. She did not disapprove of their feelings towards one another, but was disappointed by how it had transpired. Rogue was unpredictable, brash when it came to emotions, and she had hurt Remy deeply. She could not forgive the young woman for what she had done and she hoped the same would not come to pass for Bobby.
The drama that clouded the air was light compared to what had befallen Ororo, though the woman had not been so open with her circumstances. A month ago, she had dealt with the Morlocks in the only way they would understand. Callisto was dead by her hand, and for that she was suffering. Somehow, after Callisto's demise, she had found herself without her powers. She had been quiet about the loss, but the silence was draining. She knew it was unwise to keep the loss quiet, the X-Men would be needed sooner rather than later, but she could not bring herself to believe that she had lost her abilities. She was Ororo Munro, Storm of the X-Men, the Weather Witch. Without her powers, what could she be?
Ororo spent her days in the greenhouse, enjoying the company of her plants. The silence was welcome and it offered her a reprieve from the guilt and the self-doubt, but the plants needed to be tended and with no storm clouds to brew, she had taken to the water can. It was unnatural to hold such an item and she knew then that there was no more peace to be found with Mother Nature.
