As Rogue ate her sandwich (which was good and reminded her that she'd actually been quite hungry) she thought about how wise Kitty seemed to be for her age. Rogue couldn't remember being that mature herself as a young teenager, she could just remember being rebellious and while she had been independant even then, it hadn't been a mature kind of independant. No, that had come later.
"You know, you're way older than your years," Rogue smiled, voicing her thoughts straight out. She meant it as a compliment, of course, not that there were many other ways it could be taken. Rogue was hard to get through to, or at least it was hard to get her to pay enough attention to you for her to come to respect you, but when she did it was genuine.
Who'd have thought she'd find a smart little fourteen year-old to hang out with on the way back from her classes that day? Not Rogue, that's for sure.
