Rogue had expected Kitty's reaction, expected the surprise, but what she hadn't expected was for the younger girl to get over it and especially not so quickly. She nodded in response to Kitty's clarification, having said enough that she didn't want to use any more words explaining it further.
As a rule Rogue wasn't jealous of anyone's power. She didn't learn what someone could do and then find herself wishing she could have their ability instead of hers; she didn't need an ability, she'd more than settle for being normal. She really wouldn't care that she didn't have a 'cool' power as long as she didn't have her current 'curse'. However even though she didn't envy anyone's ability it didn't mean she wasn't curious about them and she contemplated the intricacies of Kitty's intagibility. It sure sounded interesting.
“Thanks,” she smiled a grateful as Kitty handed her the sandwich, feeling as if a weight had lifted from her shoulders now she’d revealed her disability, so to speak, and Kitty didn’t seem to be treating her any different. If only it was like that with everyone.
Rogue sat quiet for a minute or so, the sandwich in front of her on the table. She was definitely going to eat it, she just wasn‘t done thinking. Eventually she spoke up, voicing a thought that had been a long time coming in her mind. “I guess we all have our problems, it’s just figurin’ out the best way to deal with them that’s the hard part.” She had accepted a while ago that she would be different forever and now she figured it might just be time to decide where she went from there.
