Log: Gaia and Art Summary! Gaia and Art meet on the stairs! Then go watch ants. YOU KNOW THIS LOG IS GOING TO BE EXCITING GUYS! Backdated to the 23rd.
art. So Art was exploring the hotel. Not trying to find Ali's room, just exploring. He was actually pretty excited about the whole thing - this place was awesome! It was so big! And he even got his own room here. No more sharing a bunk with some backpacker at a hostel. He was currently running up the stairs, and just about crashed right into another person. "Oh god I am so sorry!" He said with a laugh, reaching out to catch whoever it was. "Oh wow, your hair is amazing!" It was pink! Like fairy floss!
gaia. Gaia wasn't so much exploring the hotel as she was...okay so she was following an ant. It was so tiny and lonely and she had been following it for about three flights of stairs, now, eyes trained onto it, little face set into a very serious and businesslike expression. Where was this little fellow going? What was his purpose? Why did he have no friends? She was so intent on finding the answers to these questions that she, too, was not looking where she was going. When--BANG. "OH! Ouch!" A quick gasp, then a giggle, "Oh don't be sorry! Hello!" She reached out for the boy to steady herself, before offering him a big friendly smile, reaching up to touch her hair, "You like it? Wow, thanks that's so nice! I can change it, but this colour is how I feel, most of the time. And so I keep it!"A pause, "I like your hair colour too!" It's true!
art. Art grinned, reaching down to tug on a lock of hair playfully. "Well, it's definitely you. More girls should have pink hair! But then it probably wouldn't be as cool, huh? If everyone had it." He laughed, holding his hand out for her to shake. It wasn't entirely a normal hand, given that he was missing the pinky. But that didn't seem to bother Art. "Hi! I'm Art. I just moved in here, with Shatterstar and Ric." Well not exactly with with them, since he wasn't staying with them or anything like that, but they moved in all at the same time!
gaia. "Megan has pink hair too!" Gaia smiled, glad to be knowledgeable about her surroundings - she was always more than ready to leap up with useless information like this, it made her feel less...well...useless. "But hers is much brighter! And you're right, if we all had pink hair, it wouldn't be very interesting at all!"
She stared down at his hand, tilting her head to the side, certainly not because it was missing a pinky, no, Gaia wasn't phased by anything here since everything was new and different, but it was just...well...she'd never come across this particular custom before. Oh well! If Art wanted to hold her hand, she wasn't going to complain, and so she took it! "I'm Gaia! I don't know Shatterstar -though it is about the most normal name I have heard here so far!!! Is he nice? I don't know Ric either. I am sure he is very nice, too." A pause, "I came here with Lila! Maybe sixty or so days ago?"
art. Information was never useless! Or at least Art certainly didn't believe it was. Then again, Art was just pretty fond of just listening to people talk in general, especially he did so much talking himself. So he was quite happy to listen to Gaia talk on, though it's possible he'll forgot most of what she said later on.
"It's very nice to meet you, Gaia! And isn't Shatterstar a cool name? I'd love a name like that, seriously. Art's just sort of boring and... there. But he and Ric are totally awesome, you should meet them sometime!" He beamed at Gaia. ... okay so he might think that EVERYONE should meet them, but anyway. "I haven't met Lila yet! Is she cool?"
gaia. "Lila," Gaia began thoughtfully, pursing her lips and placing a hand on her forehead, "is about my temperature. Maybe a little warmer, actually. But I suppose it's all relative, isn't it? If you were to compare her to the Citadel's black stone furnace, then, yes, I suppose she would be cool!" What an odd question. "She's my best friend, though." Gaia added, eyes brightening with adoration, "Really wise, and clever, and perfect. We should get your friends and my friend to all meet- oh my gosh could you imagine how much fun that would be?" If his friends really are as great as he said they were, and Gaia's empathy was strong today, she got the impression that he really was serious.
"I think Art is a very nice name, Art." She gave him an encouraging pat on the arm, "Not boring at all! Back home, there were people who didn't even have names." Sucks to be Designation 345345 - he had such a lovely disposition, Gaia wished she'd named him before she left. ANYWAY. "What are you doing at the moment, Art?" Big Smile!
art. Art... pretty much did not get any of that, Gaia, but he is just going to grin anyway and reply to the stuff that he DID understand! Like the comments about Lila. "She sounds awesome! Wait, is she the Lila that performed at Inferno? Because she was so great, seriously! I mean not as good as Ali, she's completely the best ever." It's entirely possible that Art's grin was just about as adoring as Gaia's eyes were there. "But you're right, we should all totally hang out sometime! Which level are you on? We're all on level six! We can have a floor party or something." Never mind how much Star and Ric would just not appreciate that.
"Aw, thank you! Gaia is an awesome name as well! I think someone told me once there was a goddess called Gaia, and that she was like... the earth and all around us and... oh, something like that." Art had met a lot of weird people in his time. "And I'm just talking to you! I didn't really have anything else planned or anything."
gaia. Oh Art! Imagine how poor Gaia felt every single minute of the day! She'd barely scratched the surface of what she had to learn when it came to this brand new colourful and shiny earth! At Art's mention of Inferno, Gaia's face lit up a little, because Lila had actually explained that to her! "Yes! Lila does music at the Inferno!" A brief frown, "I haven't heard her do any of it, maybe I should go to the Inferno and surprise her one day! You'll have to show me where it is though, I've never been before." Yay adventures!
"Does it really?!" Gaia had no idea that was what her name meant - it was given to her by the Guardian who came before her, and he died before she ever got a chance to ask. "I wonder if it means the same thing back home as it does here..." she mused, more to herself, before smiling up at him, "Yours means that you like to draw with the crayons!" Ohmygosh look how proud she is that she can use this piece of newly acquired information. "I'm glad you don't have anything else planned!" She added after a moment, "Would you like to watch the ants in the lawn outside with me?!" Maybe they can pull explore the trees, too!
ART: Well he would try and help her with that! Though he will probably make her even more confused, which probably wouldn't end up being much help at all. "Oh man you should totally come with me sometime! It's really awesome! Heaps of people and dancing and the music is always great and I pretty love it. And Ric works there as well! We can all hang out and it'll be great." Because clearly anyone Art likes would automatically like each other.
"We should find out! I bet someone around here knows, or we can go to the library! I bet we can find something there. It'll be fun."They can have an afternoon of studying and then a night of partying. How much fun would that be! ... don't answer that. "And ahahaha I don't know about that! I don't draw very well. But it's short for Arthur! Like King Arthur from the Round Table! At least that's what the priest said." He grinned at the question. "Sure! I've never watched ants before. Are they fun?" Art will... probably get bored after like two seconds and start messing around doing something else, but he will try!
gaia. "I like lots of people!" Gaia smiled, though it was filled with a little less alacrity this time, because, though she did enjoy the company of a thousand strangers all talking and thinking and feeling different things at once, sometimes it got a bit overwhelming for the girl who grew up amongst a select few hundred or so. Oh well, she'd learn!
"Arthur..." she repeated thoughtfully, "I like that name. Can I call you Arthur? Instead of Art?" Art was already a new word inside her head and she was already having trouble with all of this doublespeak that seemed to go on on this planet - so confusing!! "And I don't know if watching ants are fun, I have only been doing it for two flights of stairs" - she looked down toward the wall and made a face "oh! Quick! It's getting away - come on Arthur, WE HAVE TO GO!!" And she grabbed his wrist, and off they went on possibly the most boring adventure Gaia has had to date.
