Log: Walter and Aurora Summary: (back on the 1st!) Aurora and Walter exchange gifts. Somehow, Walter still doesn't get the hint. That or he's afraid of the Beaubiers. By the end of it, they go out for icecream.
AURORA: So not only is it Aurora’s birthday today, in which she, for the first time ever, was able to celebrate it with friends and amazing people, but it's also a new year; probably the first time ever that she's been in control for such an exciting and momentous day. Fuck you, Jeanne-Marie, take that. She is, currently, indeed sticking it to her boring alter, by drawing a thick mustache over a framed picture of The Madonna, hoping it would make the bitch cry. If Jeanne-Marie cried, it gave Aurora a feeling of dominance and Aurora liked that. It would be the cherry on top of her tres magnifique Sundae of a day.
Now that she has finished that, she sits for a moment, trying to decide what to do next. Oh! Of course! Walter said he was hiding in the same place he always hid, and Aurora wants to give him his presents! Earlier on, she had cut out ten pieces of paper and written various I.O.Us on them in her lovely curly hand writing. Her favourite one read:
This voucher is redeemable for ONE KISS from AURORA BEAUBIER.
She probably wouldn’t stop at one, but whatever. Aurora likes kisses!
4.54 seconds later she’s knocking on Walter’s door, totally wearing the socks he gave her, Some Guy’s shirt (probably Julian’s, she can’t remember), which she’s cinched at the waist with a belt and a pair of short shorts. She is, for the record, also wearing her most fabulous and dazzling smile, just for Walter!
WALTER: The moment Walter read that it was the twin's birthday, he took a bus to the mall. He felt like such a hoser loser for not knowing this already. The girl he had a crush on and the guy he considers to be a good friend. Now, if Jean-Paul reciprocated this, Walter didn't know. Either way, modest presents were purchased and he thought he was in the clear.
It's a good thing there was time in between his first reply to Aurora and then the one later that revealed his hiding place. She's fast. The door is opened up a tiny crack before it's swung open wide enough. "Hi! Happy birthday!"
AURORA: "MERCI!" Aurora's smile widens, if that's at all possible, because she really likes Walter - which isn't to say she doesn't like other people, it's just that often her feelings are...well...sort of short and sweet and intense, and then she forgets about people. Walter is always so lovely, and he hasn't once hit on her yet! Clearly he is a gentlemen of a very high caliber and Aurora actually cares what he thinks. So there you go!
She throws her arms about his neck and offers him a Free Kiss on the cheek, like always. "Happy New Year, to you, chéri!" She places her arms behind her back then, so he can't see her presents, "Did you make any resolutions, hmm?"
WALTER: Walter bides his time. Also, he has no idea how to go about 'hitting' on a girl. It sounds so violent. Geez. It's getting prickly now that he considers Jean-Paul such an all right guy. Walter, despite being hopeful, doesn't see how being friends with Aurora's brother makes things easier. He accepts friendship for now!
The kiss makes his ears turn red. "I-ah, no. Should I?" He holds up two fingers, something like a Boy Scout's pledge. "I'll stop hiding in my room so much." There!
AURORA: Aurora laughs, and pats him reassuringly on the arm with her free hand before it returns back behind her, "Ooh oui! I like that resolution! You should also come dancing more, non?! Oh-- There! That is mine! To make you come dancing more often with me!" She nods emphatically, before leaning to the side, attempting to see around and into said room.
"Speaking of! I do not think I have ever been inside of here before, chéri. Shame on you for not inviting me in sooner!" Her sparkling eyes make it obvious she's joking, but she raises her eyebrows, sort of hinting at something. Maybe she wants a grand tour?
WALTER: Dancing. Yeah right. "That sounds nice." He'll just tell her that for now. When she leans, Walter moves so she can see. His room is pretty bare, as he didn't have a lot to begin with. It's a organized mess, if anything. Books stacked on the floor, clothing folded in separate piles here and there. His bed is made and what's that? A Wall-E pillowcase. IT WAS THE ONLY ONE THEY HAD, he'll probably try to tell you.
"You can come in. Here's my room. Ta da." Oh! He quickly snatches a gift bag from his bed. "This is for you." Inside, Aurora will find a plushie seagull and a Wonder-Woman t-shirt. He had such a difficult time trying to find out what size shirt. It's just a t-shirt, but buying a LARGE would seem like an insult (girls are weird), and SMALL might not fit. Medium, that's what you're there for.
AURORA: "Oui, it does doesn't it?!" Aurora grins, quite excited that she will get to see Walter dance - and oh, don't you worry, Walter, she will see you dance. If it's the last thing she does!! Stepping into his room, her eyes sweep his 'organized mess' appraisngly - aww look at that, he made his bed! She wonders briefly if he knows how to do hospital corners like Jeanne-Marie does. Then she remembers he's not lame, so probably not.
"I like your room!" True, she does! She's about to say more about it when he pulls out presents!!! "OH MON DIEU MERCI!!" Grabby hands, she's already inside the gift bag and pulling out the seagull - "OH! I LOVE HIM! I am going to name him 'Petit Walter.'" And a shirt!! She carefully puts her own gift for him down next to her, (he'll get it in a second) and pulls off her belt, beginning to unbutton her man-shirt - Aurora wants to try it on!
WALTER: Aw, Petit Walter. How nice-- whoa! Walter's eyes go wide and he makes a bit of a sound, "Uh!" He doesn't want to stop her, because Aurora should never be stifled from doing as she pleases! So Walter does the next best thing. He quickly puts his back to her, even covers his eyes for good measure. "You're going to put it on now." Oh. Obviously.
AURORA: Off comes the shirt and Aurora pauses in her bra, raising an eyebrow at Walter's back, HE IS SO POLITE AW! "Oui!" She answers shrugging her brand new Wonder Woman tshirt on - oh hey it fits nicely! "Voila! It is perfect! Merci beau coup--thank you!"
"YOUR TURN!" Retrieving her meagre present from where she put it, Aurora hands her little cards to him "HAPPY--" A pause, "--Everthing!" Or something. Lifts a shoulder, not really embarrassed for looking like a cheapskate who makes presents but, you know. "I do not have any money because I cannot work." Jeanne-Marie RUINS EVERYTHING. "But I made you these!!" She points, "Look! This one says you can make me watch any movie you want! Even a boring one! And--and this one says I will clean your room for fifteen minutes..." Some are things Aurora would never do, others are things she wants to do - she thought it was a nice balance!
WALTER: The fact that they are just pieces of paper completely escapes Walter. It's such a sweet gesture. "Gosh." He's already thinking of what movie to watch with her. He wants to find one he knows they both will like. And she'll like it so much that she'll turn to him and say WALTER, I LOVE YOU!
He's getting ahead of himself.
"You don't have to clean my room, c'mon." Geez. He'd gladly clean her room, though.
AURORA: "Well, non, cheri," she smiles matter of factly, "I do not...but!" Here she taps the little vouchers he's holding, "With these I would not have a choice, now would I?!" She probably wouldn't do a very good job anyway, but that's beside the point!
There's a bit of a pause now, and she curls some hair around her finger, giving him a rather coy little smile "...Dooo you like?" omg does she actually care? Wow. This is new!
WALTER: Walter lets this roll around in his brain. If she made the little slips of paper, that would mean she wanted to! He nods his head, "Yes, I do. This is very nice of you, Aurora."
Not to mention, he's smiling like an idiot as he flips through the papers.
AURORA: She is smiling too! And now wants to go out wearing her brand new tshirt, even if the weather is less than stellar today, according to these piss-weak Americans. "I am glad!! They do not even have an expiry date, so! Day or night you may use them! For instance--" here she reaches over to pluck out her aforementioned favourite, "If it were two in the morning, and I was asleep, you could use this one and I would not even mind!" (Kisses at 2am were more exciting than ones at 10am anyway, in her opinion.)
WALTER: Walter cranes his neck to look at the coupon she holds. "Oh-- ha." Good gravy, he doesn't know how to deal with this. "I wouldn't want to use that when you're sleeping." Because surely, that's breaking some form of rule and he doesn't want Jean-Paul to disembowel him. Let alone be That Kind of Guy. "You should be awake for that." HA. Smooth!
AURORA: "Oui, I suppose you are right! That way I would be able to enjoy it also!" Walter isn't the only smooth operator in this room. Aurora playfully puts her coupon back onto his pile and then reaches up and pats his cheek with a little laugh.
"Would you like to come and get ice cream with me, cheri?!" Subject change!
WALTER: What game is she playing at? Walter doesn't think Aurora is dishonest, he's just not sure if he's seeing all this the right way. So not only is he a gentleman, but he lacks a backbone. Pah! "I would love to. Is there a coupon for that?" He starts to rearrange his gifts and then accidentally drops them all. "D'oh!"
AURORA: Game? AURORA DOES NOT PLAY GAMES...entirely. Really she just does as she pleases! "A coupon for icecream?" She laughs and shakes her head, about to go on but he's dropped everything. "Oh! Walter!" Crouching down she starts to help pick them up, saying to the floor, "Of course it isn't! It could be, I suppose, but that would be silly because I have already asked you! No need for a coupon." She smiles suggestively up toward him. "I will even pay, oui?!"
WALTER: Walter grabs a few coupons, holds his hands out for the rest. He's careful when he crouches, knows he's a bit of an oaf. "It's your birthday, you shouldn't have to pay." Aurora, can you get any better? Walter's in a blind state, this girl can do no wrong.
AURORA: Apparently Walter cannot either because Aurora presses the coupons firmly into his hands and smiles adoringly back at him, "We should see if they will give us free icecream!" Everyone deserves free icecream on their birthday. And their friends too. "I will put nuts on mine!" She's standing, now, and making her way to the door.
WALTER: "They might give you free icecream." They could make out like such bandits if they combined their efforts. The super fast girl and her monster. He follows her like a good boy, checking to make sure he didn't leave his lights on or have an untied shoelace.
AURORA: Aurora doesn't check anything, but maybe fluffs her hair a little and makes sure her chest is puffed out a little so EVERYONE CAN SEE HER AWESOME SHIRT-- MERCI WALTER! Then she slings her arm through Walter's and off they go.
For the record, they totally managed to get themselves free icecream. It is Aurora's birthday, afterall, snd she may or may not have discreetly flashed the icecream boy her nipple.
