narrative: now you're stuck in a moment
"This isn't our world."
Nathan Summers, Rachel Summers, Talia Wagner and Luna Maximoff sat around the dining table of the apartment they'd commandeered - the residents were on an extended vacation, leaving the place empty for their use. They'd needed a base of operations while they worked out what was going on and where they were. Nathan and Rachel had done most of the research, moving through the general populace and trailing through the minds of those around them to establish what this world was like. Luna had been largely responsible for the general mundane housekeeping, and TJ had languished in the apartment, watching television and doing her own research into this world.
"It's similiar," Nathan continued, looking around at the group. "Archangel is a famous mutant, and he does in fact own Inferno, Paradise and First Circle. But Paradise is still a secret, it looks like when he went public he didn't take the community with him. There are a few other known mutants - Northstar, Psylocke, even the Amazing Nightcrawler has received a little press. There's no sign of your mother's family, Luna, if they exist in this world then they haven't gone public yet either."
"So what do we do now?" Luna asked anxiously. "We don't know where Trevor is, or how to get home without him. I still don't understand how we got here, or how we're supposed to fix anything like he asked. We're not even in the right place, if this really isn't our world."
"At the moment, there's nothing we can do about getting home," Rachel replied, swilling the last dregs of her coffee around in her mug. She was tired, drifting through the minds of thousands of strangers over the past weeks had taken it's toll. "It's possible the mutants of this time will be able to help us - we know there are plenty of teleporters around, or maybe Forge can work out a way to send us home. Which means we need to get to know the residents of Paradise, get them to trust us."
