Emma's reappearance with the five blonde telepaths came as something of a shock to most of the group. If she hadn't put herself between them and the rest of escapees, gun in hand, they might have been victims of the break out as well. But the group had backed off, especially when the last of the guards who tried to recapture them collapsed as soon as they were in sight. In fact, they had no trouble leaving the facility, the corridors either mysteriously empty or littered with unconscious bodies. None of the telepaths spoke to any of the mutants they'd helped capture, though one of them couldn't help but sneak something of a smile in Remy's direction.
When they reached the fresh air, it was night time. Stars twinkled overhead, and most of the group stopped and gulped at the fresh air they hadn't experienced in days, or weeks. An attempt to find some sort of vehicle out of there was shortlived - much of the senior staff had already evacuated, taking the helicopters and cars with them.
"You've got to try," Tandy whispered to Ty at the edge of the group. They didn't know if Ty's teleportation could carry this many people - but it couldn't hurt to try, right? Even with a small group. A trial run was agreed to, with Emma and the five telepaths as the first test subjects. The telepaths - much to their disgruntlement - were considered expendable, and Emma was indestructable. If Tyrone could return them to the hotel, he'd be back for the rest.- - - - -
When the shadows coalesced in the foyer of Paradise, and then dispersed, leaving six unfamiliar blondes, a woman made of a diamond and a man wrapped in a cloak in the centre, chaos broke out. Myles leapt out from behind reception, instantly switching into his wolfman form. Morgan hit the panic button, with more of the security team rushing to the scene to intercept the interlopers.
"Was it too much to hope," Emma began dryly, "for a 'welcome home'?"
"Emma?" Bobby pushed his way through the crowd, staring at his mentor as the room otherwise fell silent.
"Who else would it be?" One of the Stepfords stifled a giggle, winking at Bobby before being silenced by the other four. He just stared at her for a moment, mouth agape before remembering to nervously smile.
"We're just going to go back and get the others, okay?" Tandy's chipper voice broke through the tension in the room, her smile a little nervous as she stayed close to Ty. "We'll be right back!"- - - - -
By the time Tandy and Ty had returned with the other residents, the hotel was a-flurry again. The Stepfords had been escorted to the basement, being locked in the training space until management decided what to do with them. Cecilia was on hand to do a preliminary check on all of them, Moira being teleported in to do a more thorough check. An old pair of Scott's goggles was brought in, Warren chasing away curious residents as they made sure everyone was okay, leaving the stories of what happened to be told later. The recently escaped prisoners needed medical attention, food and rest. Everything else could wait for now.
