Finished here, greeting death, he's yours to take away. [Narrative]
Scott was at the hotel when the call came. It was Sharon messaging him because she thought she was being followed. For the most part, people had been good about staying inside the hotel like he'd asked. But there were those who insisted on going out, for work or school or whatever reason happened to come up. He couldn't force them to not, he could only focus on the scans of the city and hoping that nothing happened to the others that were out there.
At any given time, there was a team ready to be deployed. Three security team members who could respond to a message like that, and this time it was Scott, Bea, and Kurt. The location tagged by Tessa, Kurt teleported them, landing just a block ahead of where Sharon was running. At first there was nothing, and then a flash of purple darted around the corner, toward them. Followed by two men running full-out. "Kurt, get her! Bea, to the right!" The three split up immediately, moving into action seamlessly. Kurt disappeared in a burst of black smoke and sulphuric smell, reappearing in time to grab Sharon out of thin air, and disappear once more, headed back to the hotel. A split second later, and noise filled the air.
Gunshots from both Bea and the agent she was facing off against, two dead shots now targeting each other. Her luck was the only thing stopping bullets from hitting her directly, and his own movements were clearly superhuman. Scott's hand went to the side of his glasses, fingers touching the sensor on the side, a blast of red energy coming out, controlled this time instead of a wild and over-powered burst, destroying the sidewalk just in front of the second agent's feet. Ducking to the side of a building, he managed to get a short message out, before moving out again -- just in time to see another agent coming up behind Bea. Scott blasted the man into the side of another building, just as Bea whipped around and returned the favor with a bullet to the forehead of the other new agent who had come up behind Scott.
Maverick was at Scott's side an instant later, and although Scott blocked his hit with an arm and returned it, the other barely seemed to notice. The energy from the hit was absorbed, and with a sinister smile it was shot back out at him in the form of a blast that sent Scott flying into a lamppost. Shoving himself up off the ground, he blasted his concussive force at the man, but he seemed unphased by that as well -- and shot it back even harder. He was about to get up again, when blonde hair caught his attention. What he thought was one girl seemed to be three, although he couldn't keep track of where they were coming and going from. Thoughts that weren't his filled his head, making it hard to focus on what was happening. Images of Emma flashed past his eyes, and he could feel that whoever was rifling around in his mind was finding her presence there...amusing. Anger flared in him strongly, clearing his vision and making him able to suddenly see Maverick's hand at his arm, about to inject him with something. He lashed out again, knocking the man back with the hit even though he knew what it would bring in return. He could feel their mild surprise, before they simply increased their efforts and everything was clouded once more. He could feel the hit from Maverick, but in some strange, distant way. He didn't feel the prick of the needle, just knew that everything was black suddenly.
A black SUV screeched around the corner, doors opening as Maverick tossed Scott's body inside. Shots rang out, Bea's bullets hitting the side of the car; even her luck couldn't make much damage come to the armor plating of the vehicle, though. Agent Zero left her then, as Maverick's order rang out. "Leave her -- we have what we came for!" The attacks weren't random. The people chosen were, it would seem, purposefully on the list. As quickly as it had come, the vehicle was gone again, leaving Bea and the bodies of the two dead agents alone on the street.
