log: Aurora & Jono
Summary! Jono doesn't have a face, but that's okay because it means more yoghurt for Aurora.
Aurora: Aurora liked the attention she and Jono received when they were out in public. Though a rare occurrence indeed, seeing as though Jono tended to lean toward the status of hermit at the best of times, when the dark haired French Canadian did manage to drag him out of his tiny little bedroom, she always enjoyed herself. It was probably the wrong kind of attention, really, since eyes were imediately drawn to Jono's face, before guiltily flicking across to Aurora, but she didn't really care seeing as though any attention was good attention in Aurora's narcisistic little world.
It was a particularly sunny day today, and Jono would have found himself the victim of Aurora's full focus as she dragged him out into the beautiful weather, one arm linked with his as she tugged him along the Santa Monica boardwalk. "I am glad you are tall," she was chattering away, "you are perfect height for leaning." She flashed Jono a quick smile as she shoved him a little. "And stop squinting, mon cher, you will get crows feet." Aurora liked to think she was getting quite good at reading what was left of Jono's expressions. Though she probably often got them ridiculously wrong, it was still fun to guess.
Jono: In daylight, Jono thought he stuck out like a sore thumb. In all black, you'd think he'd be dying out in the sunlight, but as he didn't gauge temperature the same as he had before, he was fine. Besides, he could hardly turn down the offer of a beautiful lady, particularly fun-loving Aurora. He was beginning to think, if he still had a mouth, he'd smile the most around her. There was no pretense and he didn't have any sort of ulterior motives regarding her, mostly out of some sort of respect that he had gotten to know her brother first--
Alright, it was really because he had no face. Let's be honest: that put a damper on any sort of game Jono tried to work. Otherwise, he'd be all over Aurora. The crazy thing? Hot. Unpredictable. He liked to mess with fire. «Glad y'think so, love. I had my height altered jus' fer you.» He projected casually, glancing down the boardwalk at the other pedestrians and potential starers. He looked back at her, glancing down at her. «And I'll stop squinting when it stops being so damn bright out here.»
Aurora: It was probably because Jono didn't have a mouth that Aurora hadn't made any sort of move on him; it was something he projected as being completely and entirely off limits, and although curious, Aurora wasn't really ready to herself into a mess like that. Jeanne-Marie's psyche was damaged enough as it was without Aurora having to worry about another sad sack on her hands. Plus there was Jean-Paul she had to look after as well - he seemed to be particularly mopey when she was off having fun. Still, she liked spending time around Jono. It was a rare thing indeed for Mademoiselle Beaubier to remain friends with a guy without there being any more to it than just that. For someone who wasnt very good at making and sustaining relationships like this, she kind of liked it.
At Jono's quip she let out a little peal of laughter, and shoved him with her shoulder, "Well merci beaucoup mon ami, I appreciate the dedication you have shown to my height." She squinted up toward the sky, "We ought to get you a fancy pair of sunglasses, oui? That way people will think that you are my suave bodyguard, and you would not get wrinkles." Apparently this is what was important to Aurora today. She paused, and looked at him quite seriously for a moment, "Can you shoot fire out of your eyes as well?"
Jono: Jono stared back at her, as if he were contemplating his answer to her question. «Apparently I can't.» Or else, fire would have shout out just now. He looked further down the board walk, squinting away. «And what, am I not cool enough for you? Next thing I know, you're going to try and get me sparkle in direct sunlight or whatever. I'm as broody and wearing as much black as I can be.»
Aurora: "Oh, believe me, mon ami, you are very cool." She laughed, impulsively reaching up and pecking a quick friendly kiss on the bandage that made up the side of his face. "I am certain you are also quite dazzling already, oui?" What with his beard of sparkely fire and all. She pushed her mass of black hair off of her face and squinted off toward the distance, "But with all that black, are you not hot? It is quite warm today, hmm? OH WE SHOULD GO FOR A SWIM!" At that she disengaged herself from him and zipped to the edge of the board walk, jumping up onto the railing, as if she were about to dive into the murky sea water below. "You can keep your shirt on, I will not judge." Wait, was she hot or did she just want a cold drink? She turned easily on her perch to face Jono, offering him a wide, silly smile, "Can you Englishmen swim?" (Aurora couldn't.)
Jono: The last thing Jonothon Starsmore was going to be caught doing was swimming in public. If his body were whole and he had a pulse, that would be one thing. «No, no no no. No swimming. Not today.» He jogged over to her, grabbing her hips to tug her down from there. He didn't want her to fall in and then have to explain why he stood at the railing, watching her potentially drown. «Tell you what, you got anymore of your brother's money?»
Aurora: As his hands tugged lightly at her waist, Aurora let herself be pulled down, hovering lightly above the ground and landing rather gracefully into Jono's arms, one of her own roped around his neck casually as she chuckled and pushed her hair out of her face, and then fumbled for her purse in her handbag, flipping it open and inspecting it, "Hm, maybe ten dollars. He will not give me more until next week."
Jono: Jono has more or less grown used to Aurora's disregard for personal space. At least she was no longer clawing to find out what was under his bandages. He also had no problem suggesting how she should spend the allowance she got from her brother. «How about we find you some frozen yogurt? You can eat, I can watch.» He winked. It was easier getting her to agree to frozen yogurt than to avoid swimming.
Aurora: Aurora flashed that dazzling smile of hers up at Jono, "Why, what a good idea mon cher!" What better way than spend her brother's money than on yoghurt with a guy who couldn't eat? "And perhaps with the change we can buy you some sunglasses, oui? Perfect end to the day!"
