log: lila cheney & brian braddock
summary. It's Saturday night and after Lila's return to the stage at Inferno. She and Mr. Brian Braddock decide to get a little celebratory in her room afterward. It doesn't really work out as awesome as either of them intended.
BRIAN: It was probably a credit to Brian's patience that he'd managed to last as long as he had without hooking up with someone at the hotel. Which had been difficult, considering that at least 40% of its occupants were of the right age, gender and standard of beauty. However Brian was no monk -or pious knight, thanks dream world- and it was only a matter of time until he set his sights on someone. That someone happened to be Lila Cheney, who was not only remarkably gorgeous and sexy but also seemed to be into him too. Which was how they'd gotten to where they were now, pressed up against the door of Lila's room, following one of her performances at Inferno. "Found that key yet?" Brian mumbled into her neck, too preoccupied with planting kisses there to stop and actually help her dig through her purse.
LILA: Lila Cheney was back on top of her game; at least, that's what she thought. Adrenaline had rushed through her veins during her show, back on stage for the first time since her return. She had finally gotten over whatever nasty infection she had in her lungs due to ample rest and antibiotics or whatever stuff Cecilia had given her. And to top it all off, that hot rugby player she recognized (but she played it cool) had reciprocated flirtation and now they were at her door. This -- this was how Lila Cheney's life should be. Hot men, hot music, good health. Lila liked to think she didn't ask for much in life, just a chance to play and have sex. She might even be over the piracy thing, but she wasn't about to address that anytime soon.
It was getting increasingly more difficult to fish out her key when he's doing that, leaning her head against the door as she tried to concentrate on the contents of her purse and much less the trouble he was causing. An extra pair of earrings, chapstick, a USB drive, her cellphone all get pushed around until she finds the key and turned hastily to open her door and get them out of this damn hallway before she doesn't care if there are other residents around.
BRIAN: "Finally," Brian remarked in relief when she pushed the door open. "For a minute there I thought we were going to have to cross into exhibition territory." He paused, closing the door behind them, and then added with a lascivious smirk. "Not that I'd have a problem with that." God knew he'd had sex in more open places than a hotel lobby. Thank you girlfriend number 4. Brian toed his shoes off and threw his jacket over a nearby chair and then walked over to stand in front of Lila, his hands cupping her face. "Now where were we," he murmured before picking up where he'd left off, his lips finding hers as he subtly moved her toward her the bed.
LILA: What was supposed to be a fun night ended fifteen minutes later. Lila hadn't gotten off nor did she seem to enjoy it that much, despite her attempt at faking it. The fact of the matter was that Lila Cheney did not have to fake it -- she usually was very discerning in her choices of a bed partner, despite it looking like there was no pattern at all. The pattern was this: they were all sexually satisfying. But something strange had happened with Brian that Lila hadn't expected. Maybe it was her -- her mood had turned foul and she wasn't sure why. She wasn't really paying attention to Brian anymore as she sat there, physically disconnected from him and the act they had committed, trying to figure out where it had gone wrong. She hummed softly to herself in consideration.
BRIAN: Huh, well that was unexpected. Normally Brian got a nice warm, sated afterglow feeling following sex but this just felt awkward and weird. The tension radiating from Lila's body was obvious, from the way she was sitting completely detatched from him -whereas most girls liked to cuddle- to the completely disconnected humming. It was driving him crazy. "Were you..." Brian started to ask, and then trailed off and shook his head. "Nevermind." It was a huge blow to his ego that he was even considering the idea that Lila might not have been 100% genuine there in her moaning. At the same time though it was hard to simply ignore something like that, especially because Brian did pride himself on being good in bed. Rolling onto his side, he propped his chin in his hand and looked up at her. "But were you? Faking? You can tell me the truth, I won't be mad."
LILA: It must be nice to have such a track record where even a little exaggerated moaning would tip him toward thinking she was faking. Though in her defense, she normally doesn't fake it. She normally would have taken some control of the situation to make it for the better, but she didn't feel like it tonight. Before she could stop herself, she let out a soft, dark laugh. She shook her head in disbelief, continuing to look at the ceiling for a moment before she turned her head to look at him. "You can't honestly expect me to have that conversation with you." She looked back at the ceiling. "But yes." Don't worry Brian. It also bugged her. Well, it bugged her that she had to resort to it when normally Brian would have been satisfying. Maybe it was because Gaia moved. She normally would be concerned that the pink-haired girl could overhear anything. She had been struck by the fact that she didn't have to worry about that -- and it twisted in her gut a little. But that hadn't been it entirely.
BRIAN: Well thank you for laughing, Lila. That was certainly going to put Brian's mind at rest. He actually scowled at her reaction, not appreciating the fact that he'd been made a fool of and was now apparently being mocked. "Well it wasn't exactly good for me either. If you weren't into it you could have said so instead of letting me... letting me keep going." Because he'd gotten the distinct impression that somewhere in that fifteen minutes Lila had switched off completely and was probably doing something like balancing her cheque book. Awful. "This isn't how I thought tonight would turn out," Brian admitted after a moment. "I thought there'd be seconds at least. Hey maybe we should... should we try again?" He shrugged his shoulders at her -as best as he could since he was lying down- and added, "You could tell me what I was doing wrong."
LILA: A year ago, she would have been into this and the sex would not have stopped after a mediocre fifteen minutes. A year ago, nothing would have been bugging her -- she wouldn't have had that whole Gaia situation weighing her down, she wouldn't have almost gotten caught for her off-planet activities, and... and she wouldn't be at a weird stage with Forge. Truth was, things had gotten incredibly complicated for Lila Cheney this past year. That was what she was thinking about, tuning out Brian as she considered it -- had she gotten past the point where she could no longer just have a good time without worrying about other things? She knew she had to fix her relationships with Gaia and Forge. She knew she had to figure out if she was going to give up her thieving. Maybe she was just stressed. She made a face at that thought. She was going to be pissed if that was the case. Brian's last words caught her attention and she glanced back over at him before pushing herself to sit up. "Rain check? I have some things I need to get done around here." Surely there was a shower she could take, some music she could mix, some files to back-up, some more thinking to do. Nevermind what time it was.
BRIAN: "You have things to do at this time of night?" Brian asked skeptically, though considering he'd been humiliated enough tonight he wasn't about to sit here and argue about it. Instead he got out of Lila's bed, pulled on his jeans and shirt and gathered his shoes. This was quite possibly the worst welcome to America Lila could have given him. And now he had to deal with the possibility that he'd somehow lost his sex mojo, dear god. "I guess I'll see you around," he added awkwardly before exiting the room and probably going to drown himself in the shower.
LILA: As soon as he cleared the bed, she got up herself, wrapping herself in the sheet. She padded over to her computer, leaning over the table to wake it up from sleep mode and put on some music. She was already in a different gear, her mind thinking about things she could get done once Brian was gone. "Later," she said coolly before he left, turning up the volume on her speakers and heading to the bathroom for her own shower.
