Johnny was scrambling to his feet as well, and had no real idea how to react to this situation at all. He barely knew how to react when he was the one initiating the kissing, let alone when it was Mason. He liked Mason, a lot. Loved him to bits...They were best friends since they were kids and there was nothing he wouldn't do for him. But did he like him like that? He was pretty sure he wasn't gay, at least he wasn't gay yesterday. Was he gay today? Is that how it worked? Could he have handled this better? Probably. Should he have? Definitely.
He held his hands up and tried to get Mason to stay, but he didn't know the right words, "It's okay, it's really really okay, don't apologize," he said sincerely. It didn't have to be weird. Guys kissed each other all the time. Right? Johnny hadn't kissed back, maybe he should have. Would it have made it less awkward? Was he supposed to ask him to stay and tell him to kiss him again just to make sure?
He waved back at him as he headed for the door. "Thanks..." he said. "Bye, Mason. Don't be a stranger." And then he did the gun fingers. Because gun fingers meant cool and casual and everything was fine. Jesus. He was going to die. He was definitely going to die. This was definitely going to complicate things.
