Who: Chris and Sawyer What: Meet up at closing time, impromptu date night. Where: the Score Better When: The end of the day. Warnings: The cutest cute of all cute forever.
Yep. Jury was in, official verdict issued.
Locking up an empty Score Better was one of the most un-fun things Chris ever had the pleasure of doing.
Not like the actual process of locking was that much of a chore; it really wasn't. C'mon, looking around the store to make sure no one was trying to spend the night in front of the new Ninja Attack display? Powering everything down for the night and locking the loading bay? Cake. It was more what the locking-up tended to take the place of (read: girlfriend time) that made it a decided bit of annoyance in Chris' book.
This time it was a favor; one of the other guys on the Geek Team had to run out early and Chris, being the good guy he was, had offered to pick up the slack. Co-worker points, +1; life fun points, -10.
At least Sawyer had taken the news well. And at least he had something good to make up for it. No spy-time, no Agency, no Bourne breathing down both their necks about keeping their professional lives professional and their personal lives personal- not tonight. Tonight was theirs, starting in...[he checked his watch] ten minutes. Ten minutes until Sawyer left OrangeBerry and made her way over.
Chris pulled out his phone and tapped out another text to Sawyer before heading out on his Official Rounds of the store. Man, cover jobs sucked.
