"I don't know about all that." Her smile turned more toward a smirk, and she turned her attention back to the paperwork in her lap. So far, the numbers in all the columns were correct. That was good. That meant everyone was where they were supposed to be. That meant that no one would be getting fired today. He was right; Liz was a good businesswoman. Anomalies in her budget weren't something that she would forgive.
"But thank you. I suppose anonymous press can't be bad press." The moments of silence were filled with the sound of Liz's pen scratching across her paperwork. Her attention had waned, but it was nothing personal. Somehow, she didn't think Mike would mind her lack of conversation. "Mhmmm," she replied absently, looking up only as he left.
"Oh, Mike. Don't forget to go and get dinner on your break. Chef made a lovely shepherd's pie."
