Who: Matthew and Angie What: Long overdue reunion of two rehabilitated Terrors (with some reminiscing along the way) When: Halloween night...and sometime between 1650 and 1660 Where: Streets of Seattle (and Medieval Europe countryside) Warnings: Mentions of violence and gore
After a solid seven years of isolation, not to mention the who-knows-how-many before the crossing, Matthew's nearly infinite patience had finally run out. He needed to leave, to escape the four walls of his self-imposed prison, to experience the world for a bit before it all changed again. To frequent one of those...cafes (although any resemblance to the cafes of old began and ended at the name), or maybe even a bar. Those couldn't have changed all that much, he reasoned. A bar was a bar, no matter where or when, the atmosphere and staff universal. And who knew, this version of the world might prove to be more interesting than the other...although he somehow doubted it. There was far too much mischief and mayhem and general violence in that one for this to compare. He grabbed his coat, at least one size too large for him like all the rest of his clothes, and pulled it on over his sweater before leaving the apartment for the outside.
Once there, he glanced in both directions from the building before selecting one arbitrarily, figuring one was as good as another. He paused to take a deep breath, reveling in the feel of fresh, clean, un-recycled air, closing his eyes and smiling faintly in appreciation before continuing on his way, paying little mind to either his destination or the people he passed. Most of them in costume, which admittedly threw him for a loop at first (he knew the date, he just hadn't been expecting there to be so many people in various stages of undress stalking the night in ridiculous guises), but he recovered quickly and continued on his way.
That is, until a now-familiar tingle caused the hairs on the back of his neck to rise. He stopped and scanned the area for the source, head cocked slightly as if listening for something, trying to locate the Creation he knew had to be in the area, and stopping suddenly in surprise when he realised exactly who it was who had gotten his attention.
