Who: Tris and Brea What: Dream walking. Where: Brea's dream. When: Tonight. Warnings: Safe, will update if things change.
The dream was Brea's dream, apart from reality and yet very like it. It was a bright emerald that sparkled without light, a palace in the fairy tale way, recognizable precisely only if one had seen the last movie Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings and liked the palace of Minas Tirith as much as Brea did. The walls were pale mineral green, carved in long lines and presided over by the serious lime faces of kings past, though in Brea's dream they all smiled or held some kindness behind their eyes, and they were joined sometimes by queens and little princes or princesses. The castle was not silent, and it hummed with the voices of hundreds of people going about their daily lives, cooking things and humming things and arguing about trivial matters like who had let the chickens run loose in the yard and whether or not there would be new taxes to support the war effort with a neighboring kingdom.
Though there were no actual faces in the dream, there was a strong impression of people, and the dream jarred with movement, the focus not on the vari-green environment but rather on any sense of interruption. The flip of a passing skirt down a hallway, the shifting of a bored guard on duty, the frolic of a dog in the gardens below the great hall windows, all drew the eye immediately, releasing the attention slowly back into the hazy stream of the dream, like a gentle rainstorm with occasional flashes of lightning.
Brea herself, the dreamer, blended into a busy hall of courtiers whose expressions never seemed to change from gentle, frozen smiles. Her garb was the brightest in the room, though she wore soft breeches and a tunic out of the best Renaissance festival, not at all the pretty princess attire of some of the women presence. Hers was the most animated face, and she swept along a green buffet table heaped with verdant offerings, green appetizers and green chicken legs and green loaves of fragrant bread.
