She did turn around, her loose hair partially obscuring her face for a moment before slipping back to reveal her features. Her heart had sped up when she heard the voice, but it was a momentary thing. Everyone here was friendly, weren't they? No one had tried to hurt her. Plus, she could see his blue, blue eyes from here, and they looked trustworthy. Bonnie decided trust simply, and he had passed the test somehow.
She didn't answer. Instead, she took one deeper step into the pool, the hem of her dress floating around her on the surface. The water was warm, pleasantly so, and her mind was a little fuzzy from the sweet lemon drink the bartender had given her - a lemon drop, he said - and she looked over her shoulder and smiled at him playfully.
