Who: Iris (with cameos by her siblings) What: Watching a party Where: Iris is in Bathos 103, her thoughts are in the Black Pearl When: Party night! Warnings: Not that I can think of.
Iris had decided to stay home the night of the party at The Black Pearl. She was too new to town to go to something like that, and too new to leaving her own house to venture out on her own. Especially to an event that promised to be overwhelming in more ways than one. Though it didn't stop her from curling up on her couch and thinking of her siblings, wondering what each of them was up to. The images came to her with just that thought, and she sighed at the sensation of color and movement, so foreign to her now except through others' eyes.
As usual, she thought first of Rowan, and smiled at the pirate outfit. Her sister had gone all out, though the accent was atrocious. She giggled when it appeared that Rowan was having a good time, and her thoughts moved on. Orin's outfit and demeanor made her laugh for a moment as she watched, amused by his insistence on propriety. She was surprised by Mathias' costume, and quickly turned her thoughts away when it became apparent he needed some privacy. She thought of Adam and Jon too, but her thoughts spun away from them as quickly as they landed.
And Louis. She thought of Louis last, just as the sun was beginning to rise. Not because she loved him least, only because that was the way her thoughts had wandered. But what she saw made her push away the early-morning exhaustion in surprise. Thinking of Louis should have brought her the familiar image of her brother, but instead she was confronted with a girl - a young tattooed woman dressed in black. She saw her struggle toward the front of the bar, thoughts laced with confusion and panic, and into a nearby alley.
Iris gasped, fingers pressed to her mouth, as her brother emerged from the image of the girl. It wasn't anything like she had ever seen before, so either her ability to see things was changing, or Louis had his own incredible ability. She'd never talked to anyone about the things she was able to do, but she'd heard rumors about crossing over and what it did to people...
She watched as Louis hailed a cab, and then let her thoughts stray from him, giving him privacy on the ride. Her own vision went familiarly dark, and her heart raced in confusion.
