The day had been chilly and, as usual, rainy. Mercy shivered as she nonchalantly made her way to the mail storage room. Like all drugs, the new heart medication was being held there until it could be catalogued. Nodding greeting to the few staffers that ever really bothered to notice her, Mercy made sure no one was in sight when she slipped into the room. Removing her backpack from her shoulders, she carefully placed a box inside, tightly fit around some of Arch's regular supplies. He was amazingly talented with chemicals and she believed that no red tape should stop him from doing what he could do. Not to mention he was one of Mercy's few friends. Making sure everything was safely packed in, Mercy replaced the bag on her shoulder and exited the hospital through the closest door. She didn't really have to be sneaky; no one noticed her often enough. She was just another young girl in a nursing uniform.
When she arrived at his apartment building, her paced slowed. It was always weird walking into Aubade; she felt so out of place there. All the rich people who had money to waste on such apartments and clothes. Mercy looked down at her scrubs, then over at the doorman. He knew her since she visited Arch often, but some times she saw the distain in his eyes. Maybe it was because she never bothered to clean herself up before she came over. Her hair was simply pulled up in a ponytail, she had blue scrubs on and a pair of old tennis shoes that she had had for going on five years.
Making her way up the single flight of stairs (because she preferred the stairs to the elevators), Mercy knocked on his apartment door.
