Who: Katya and Gideon What: Debriefing on the dreams When: Sunday afternoon, 5/22 Where: Gideon's Apartment Warnings: None?
Katya threw herself into work, both at Dorsia and on the streets of Seattle. She did what she could to fight sleep, hating the images that played before her once her eyelids were closed. Starfire was more visible than usual, venturing into Bathos territory a few times over the past week. She had seen the new mask, watched carefully like Gideon had tried to teach her. He was different, brutal, and Katya gave him a wide berth. She was careful to leave her targets tied securely on the street corners, ready to be picked up by the trash collectors. She thought it was an appropriate metaphor.
Finally though, all of the activity caught up to her. Her body shut down, forcing her to sleep. When she woke up, she remembered nothing of her dreams. She wondered, not for the first time, if the images she thought she was dreaming of were actually forgotten memories. Except, I've never met a bird-woman on a telephone wire, she reminded herself. Still, the one of Gideon had been playing over and over in her mind. She missed him, and despite what Roger said, she thought there was at least some part of him that could be saved. Katya waited until Sunday afternoon to knock on her father's door, simply because that was the only time she had been able to bring herself to knock. She had made her way down to his apartment four times already that afternoon, each time unable to knock on his door.
