Who: Lilah and Kayla What: First encounters and aiding in a bad date escape plan Where: The fine fine establishment where Lilah works When: Today-ish Warnings: Mild, probably
Although both day and night shifts had their respective perks and downsides, she had to admit that things were more subdued and laid-back before dark. Of course they still had the regulars who came in and sat at the bar at all hours, whether it be ten in the morning or ten at night, but for the most part the alcohol really started flowing as time grew later and later. Today her shift ended at six, which meant she would be long gone before the place filled up and the bar became crowded with primarily intoxicated men waving bills like it meant something.
Perfectly content to play the role of waitress rather than her usual shtick of the 'hot' bartender, Lilah was clad in an outfit of uniform black with her hair twisted up into a messy bun. Funnily enough, sober people seemed to care less about appearances than drunk ones did - at least when it came to the male species. It wasn't too busy (yet), with only a few of the tables occupied and only one sad-eyed drunk hunched over the quiet bar. She'd just brought a cheeseburger and a club sandwich to the guy in the corner, who kept trying and failing miserably to impress her with some bullshit about law school. There was only one other waitress working at the moment, and since she seemed occupied with a pair of older ladies who were giving her a hard time about calories Lilah just decided to take what should have been her table to avoid any customer complaints.
She approached the table with a smile for the blonde woman and the guy who occupied it, noting that the woman didn't seem overly thrilled to be there - not as much as the guy did, at least. God, she'd been on enough of these types of dates to know one when she saw it. Poor woman. "Hi," she said with her usual false cheerfulness, almost a staple of working in the service industry. "I'm Lilah, and I'll be your waitress today." She had no notepad, because her memory was easily good enough without it. "Can I start you two off with something to drink?"
