Who: Rob and Mason What: Late night chats Where: Bathos, Lobby When: Tonight Warnings: A swear or two at the most?
Insomnia wasn’t the largest of Rob’s concerns. His bills, his growing powers, his inability to form a complete thought when he remembered how certain forum conversations went, and the general rise of crime in Seattle came above it. Keeping Mr. Gallagher happy too – even if he still had no idea how the Cipher had gotten his pictures. The fact that the last few nights had been spent staying up, testing his webs and pushing the limits of his powers was lost on him. If he went to bed, he simply couldn’t sleep. In a way all of his other worries added to a new one. As Rob stared up at his ceiling he realized the critical issue: if he was a zombie much longer, his art would suffer.
Which meant his job – which meant the bills would pile up – which meant he would be homeless – which meant he’d have to live in Hamartia which wasn’t safe, but hey JP was there-
He cut that line of thought quickly, shutting his eyes and massaging at his temples. He still couldn’t say why his lack of self-confidence led to headaches and a dulling of the senses, but it wasn’t good. He could do this – he just needed to fall asleep, stop thinking about things which didn’t matter so he could get through the next day and…well, he didn’t know. Attempting graduate school was too far ahead with his current funds. Rob killed that line of thought, swinging out of bed. Muttering under his breath about idiocy – concerning himself – he got dressed. He grabbed his camera and room key and headed out.
This area of Seattle wasn’t too ugly at night – thought not appealing either. At least though, it gave him something to do aside from running in circles in his mind. He moved to the doorway, adjusting his camera for the lighting. The moon was bright tonight and the clouds had for once spread apart to give a good view. The sky was always a good subject – overdone, but it was what made it appealing from an artistic standpoint. How could he put his own spin on it?
