Who: Luke and Rob What: Bonding over training attempts Where: Verisimilitude's gym When: The day after the ball (Tuesday) Warnings: None
Despite waking up the morning after T. Brandon's charity ball with a lingering headache and a strong desire to just stay in bed, Luke forced himself to get up and function at a level at least slightly higher than zombie, because he had class later on in the evening and needed to start practicing with the grappling belt Blytech had given him. Since he had a good chunk of time now, however, he figured he'd shower up and head over to Verisimilitude - he liked the gym there, and the best part was that it didn't cost him a fortune (since he'd already done a good enough job of spending more than he should have.) Tugging on a pair of track pants and a t-shirt, he grabbed his gym bag and managed to catch the bus just in time.
Once he trudged his way inside and found the gym (obviously he knew where it was now, but sometimes he still needed a moment or two to catch his bearings) he shoved his stuff in a corner where he could keep an eye on it. There weren't many others here today, he noted as he headed over to the weights, which was a good thing - in his opinion. He hated the feeling of being watched.
As he experimented with lifting variously weighted dumbbells, Luke couldn't help but glance in the direction of a guy who looked like he'd never been to a gym before. Not that he looked grossly out of shape, but he just... didn't look like he knew what he was doing at all. Although Luke wasn't an expert himself, he'd been here enough times to feel like he had a general grasp of things. Although he didn't move from his spot on the bench, he attempted to make eye contact with the guy and offered a slight wave with his free hand. An opening, if the other guy chose to take it, or simply a friendly gesture between comrades.
