At Detective Warda's placation, Daryl sighed. "I simply wanted to ensure that you were fully aware. That is all." She didn't want the detective to be confused, after all. Most people were so very easily confused.
The other woman's string of impassioned words began to grow, and Daryl remained silent to appreciate them. Her lips bore a faint smirk as she listened, head lilting just slightly to the side. Clearly, Detective Warda had problems with high society. Why, she wasn't sure, but she would be someday. It was all very curious.
Having a woman that was well over a foot taller than you staring you down with an anticipating glare would have been intimidating for anyone else. Daryl, on the other hand, wasn't swayed. She was silent for a moment, just standing there. "Before I make any decision, I must ask why you came at all. Clearly you dislike these sorts of gatherings. Why is it appropriate for you to attend and not me?"
