Re: Edges of Ballroom
Jennifer squinted at Hockney's subsequent snort. Did she honestly have no idea just what she was getting into with escorting a man to a charity ball? As his date no less--and just the words ringing against her own mind made her furious. Of course he was going to court her, while Jennifer sat and waited like a good little police detective. Entirely stymied by her own honor. "And now that you're officially Morgenstern's lover in the presses, I'm sure the oversight was well worth it, Hockney."
The eyeroll was expected at least, and Jennifer crossed her arms. Why, of course she didn't need looking out for. She could take on the entire universe by herself even, just like Jennifer thought she could, and that had turned out so spectacularly as well. "I'm not suggesting you to be helpless, I'm suggesting I drive you home so you can get rid of this--" She gestured to the outfit "--whatever this is. Unless you'd rather waste your time with idiots than do something sensible with the rest of your evening."
