Charity Ball
Who: Everyone
What: The Thomas, Inc. Charity Ball
Where: The Four Seasons Seattle
When: Sunset on Monday
Warnings: Any and all
Notes: A few ground rules! Anyone not wearing formal wear will be barred from entry to the ballroom. Anyone starting fights or using their abilities will be swiftly removed by hotel staff - picking fights is not the point of this event. Any posts between now and 12:01 AM on Friday need to be within the time span of this event, and there is to be no posting outside that span until then. Please list your character's location in the subject of your comments.

The hotel in which the ball was taking place, The Four Seasons Seattle, provided valet parking at the front doors and men to hold the doors for the ladies as they entered. The doormen were also checking invitations, to be shown as the guests entered the ball. Those not in formal attire were sent promptly packing - open to the public or no, this was not an event for riff raff in street clothes.

The ball was as formal and dignified as the invitations implied. Men and women from all over Seattle were in attendance, dancing across the floor, mingling around the edges, and enjoying the pleasant glow of being charitable. The bar at the back of the room was open and serving drinks to kick the night off and smooth out any tension in the guests, as well as lend them courage to ask their partners for a dance. Men circulated the room with plates of hors d'oeuvres for the party guests, to keep their strength up for dancing all through the night. The entire hotel was open for the guests use as well, and there were many alcoves, nooks, and crannies in which on could seek privacy if it was wanted.

Not everyone in the room was rich, but everyone was at least devoted to pretending at civility. Tonight was about charity, ostensibly, and about seeing and being seen.
