"Of course," she said at his request. When they left the room, she used her key to lock it, checking the knob three times before she was satisfied that it was, indeed, locked. And she imagined that the other staff would have the presence of mind to obey the note on the door - unlike some nosy secretaries.
They made their way up the stairs slowly, and it was very hard for Hayley not to offer him an arm. But without gloves, she wasn't comfortable with so much as standing near him without her hands in her pockets, let alone letting him lean against her side. She stayed a few paces behind him, just in case, as they walked up the stairs to the ground floor.
Luckily, no one else was there, so their trip went fairly smoothly. They reached the elevator and rode up to the top floor, where workout room was. The floor was quiet, and to Hayley seemed deserted. As they approached the door, she fished through her tote bag, pulling out her keys. Will lingered a few yards behind her as she rushed ahead, ready to just get this over with. She picked through the keys, trying them in the doorknob until she realized it was open. Not thinking much of it, she turned it.
Will said something behind her, and she turned, eyes wide. "What was-" She cut herself off as she pushed the door open wide, getting hit with a completely unexpected light. Squinting, she peered through her adjusting pupils until her gaze focused on the reason for the light.
Orin Monarch had come in early, and there she was standing in the doorway in her rumpled jacket, hair a mess, and a man's boxers. Perfect.
