Will hated to see the tears on Hayley's face, and he caught the blanket up around his waist with one hand, reaching over carefully to his own jacket on the floor to dig out the handkerchief he knew was in the pocket. With a small grunt of pain, he righted himself again and held the handkerchief out to her, being careful not to even brush against her bare knee.
"I was lucky enough to avoid running into any of them. But acid spit sounds fairly awful." He tried not to comment too much on anything that would start the tears even more.
