Evangeline wasn't angry with Hayley, she'd been hurt and confused, and more than that she'd been terrified. Once she composed herself it occurred to her that she was jumping to conclusions, and that it probably wasn't quite the crisis situation she imagined it would be. And if it was they'd all leave and Solomon would raze the place to the ground. Simple enough.
But for now she had to do something that wasn't simple. Something that was never simple, but something she refused to be afraid of. That was the whole point of growing, everything was happening at once, and the conversation had set her off. She'd been thinking about her first ever birthday party, which was something that was supposed to be a new kind of beginning. But bringing that up was forcing her to deal with emotions that she'd been working through her whole life. She was much better in so many ways, but when so many thing happened at once there were still certain aspects of herself that she couldn't always restrain. Sometimes it came out in violence, other times just plain fear. This situation had been a combination of both. But she'd talked to Solomon, they knew what they were going to do. She'd talked to her Papa. Now she needed to make it right with Hayley.
She went to the kitchen, dragging a rather large shopping bag, and grabbed a tin of cookies. Supplies in tow she headed to Hayley's room. The door was propped open so she popped her head inside. "Hayleybop? Can I come in?" she asked before just assuming she ought to step inside.
