Ryder was slightly taken aback by the way she spoke, so fiercely - if her own daughter had been hurt, wouldn't she want the one responsible punished for it? He couldn't be too judgmental of the vigilantes and their purpose, since in a way he was on a similar mission - but his was singular, personal; not for the greater good but to avenge his ghosts and satisfy his own need for vengeance. "And let the one responsible roam free to inflict pain over and over?" It was asked almost incredulously, but even so he never expected an answer.
Then the woman was gone, pushing into the crowd and disappearing in the mass of bodies. Too late he realized he was still holding the silly toy, but by the time he realized it enough to call out after her, she was gone. Sighing heavily, Ryder glanced down at the toy fish and turned, regarding the scene for a few moments longer before heading back inside himself.
