"There's no indication that was the impetus, actually," Azrael corrected. "Hurting them might be a means to an end, not the actually purpose of the encounter. There's two of them, they're alive, and they've been dumped in a public, rich community." He shook his head. "Hurting them wasn't, I don't think, the impetus."
He looked back at the man across the railing at the question. "It bothers me very much," he said truthfully. "But being upset doesn't mean I can't think through the problem. Actually, thinking through the problem makes it easier to deal with the emotions. It gives me something to focus on other than the pain and their futures - which is, I believe, what you're doing."
