Re: [Bathos]
Wrinkling her nose, Daryl shook her head. "I don't want my fingerprints on these children," she said haughtily. "Do you think I'm an idiot?" Obviously Jane didn't, but she was going to say that anyway. Because she often said that as an attempt at guilting the blonde into agreeing with her.
At the request, she complied, helping Jane as she subtly checked the children. Daryl watched her face, attempting to gauge the extent of the damage. Clearly it was bad, given their appearances and Jane's expressions. But "bad" probably didn't even start to cover it. When the doctor finished, Daryl stood, moving to her side.
The crowd was getting big, and she wanted to get out of there. She was in her pajamas, hair a tangled mess, and people were looking. A few whispered the name "Hockney," making her tense in irritation. Peons. Looking over at Jane, she nodded. "Yes. We should leave." As she heard the woman whisper, Daryl glanced down grimly. "That doesn't protect them," she said simply. With that, she lead her roommate into the Bathos with grim strides.
