The hand on her shoulder made JP fall abruptly silent. In some ways, that silence was worse, to her, than her own loud screams. It was oppressive and settled on her heavily, painfully. She shuddered under the hand and looked up at the guy standing slightly behind her. Camera guy. She had bumped into him.
Without thinking, JP turned against him and pressed her face into his shoulder. She was crying, and she only realized it when the wet cloth of his shirt started sticking to her cheeks. "It's not okay," she whispered, more to herself than anyone else, but it was likely he could hear her. "It's not okay that people can do this to other people and thing it's okay. This is sick." Her fingers balled up, forming fists that she held against her sides as she shook, torn between horror and rage.
