Rob had never reacted well to contact with others. He'd never been the most graceful of people and had bumped into enough in his time to know the awkward dance well. Even as revolted as he was by the tortured girls, he muttered an apology to the girl who passed him. She might have been at fault, but it was just habit. Her screams though prompted a different reaction. For one thing, his hearing didn't do well with it. High pitched and too close...and way too loud.
Wincing he reached for her shoulder. "It won't do anything. You've got to calm down. The police have got it-" He didn't know if he was reassuring her or bother of them, but it didn't matter. He was also holding the shoulder of a pretty girl in a crisis. Bad.
