Who: Ryder and Isolde What: A fun encounter of randomness Where: Verisimilitude When: Today-ish Warnings: Probably none
There were few places that Ryder visited with a significant amount of frequency, but Verisimilitude was slowly making its way onto said list. While he spent his nights in bars, clubs, or prowling the streets searching for his latest mark, it was much more difficult to do his job during the day. At least he felt comfortable in the dark, and the sort of people that ventured out were the ones he'd come to familiarize with, and they had understandings. In the daylight, however, a man with two revolvers was much more noticeable - the risk of casualties was also higher, and capturing someone wanted for skipping bail who also happened to be wearing a business suit was extra stress added to an already pressure-filled job.
So occasionally he would come here, liking the seclusion that a place as big as Verisimilitude offered - as well as the neutrality. He didn't have to worry about conflict the usual things that he dealt with more often than not. The only thing he didn't like was that he couldn't bring his guns on the property, but in the grand scheme of things it was a small sacrifice.Today he'd retreated to the library, a place of silence and solitude, choosing a book that broke down the great successes and failures in military history and studied them in-depth. It was a thick volume, and it was unlikely that he'd get through it today, but he could always come back.
He was clad in a pair of scuffed boots, worn dark-colored jeans, and a long shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows - he rarely ever dressed up because he never had the need to, so his usual attire was casual. Finding himself a table near one of the windows, he stretched out and settled in to read, although part of his focus was always on his surroundings.
